01. Standards
We adhere to WCAG 2.2 Level AA as our primary standard, and apply best practices for PDF/UA (ISO 14289-1) for downloadable documents.
02. Governance
A Digital Accessibility Officer (legal@huronsmithoil.com) oversees our efforts. A cross-functional committee reviews progress quarterly.
03. Implemented Features
Text alternatives for non-text content, captions, and sufficient color contrast (4.5:1).
Full keyboard navigation, visible focus indicators, skip links, and adjustable session timeouts.
Semantic HTML5 structure, ARIA landmarks, and explicit form labels.
Compatibility tested with NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver.
04. Limitations and Alternatives
Where complex data visualizations are used, we provide equivalent accessible text or table views. We maintain a remediation roadmap for known limitations.
05. Continuous Improvement
Automated tools (axe-core, Lighthouse) are integrated into our deployment pipeline. We conduct manual reviews and annual testing with users with disabilities.
06. Third-Party Content
We require third-party providers to meet WCAG 2.2 AA standards to the extent commercially reasonable.
