Marine Lubricant Portfolio

Engineered for IMO 2020, MARPOL Annex VI, and Zero-Downtime Operations

HSO Lubricant delivers a complete range of marine lubricants for slow-speed two-stroke, medium-speed four-stroke, and auxiliary systems. Every formulation is tested against OEM specifications and validated for VLSFO (Very Low Sulfur Fuel Oil) compatibility.

High-Performance Marine Lubricants

Our advanced marine portfolio delivers specialized lubrication architectures across three critical operational categories: High BN Cylinder Oils engineered to neutralize acid condensation and protect two-stroke crosshead engines; System Oils formulated with superior thermal stability and water-separation properties for crankcase and bearing protection; and EPA VGP Compliant Environmentally Acceptable Lubricants (EALs) designed to ensure maximum biodegradable efficiency in sensitive oil-to-sea interfaces.

High BN Series

Cylinder Oils

Engineered for low-speed two-stroke crosshead engines burning high-sulfur residual fuels or scrubbed VLSFO.

  • VLSFO Ready: Validated against CAT fines and asphaltene compatibility.
  • Anti-Corrosive: Neutralizes sulfuric acid condensation on cylinder liners.
  • OEM List: MAN Energy Solutions, WinGD (formerly Wärtsilä), Mitsubishi UEC.

Crankcase Protection

System Oils

Thermal stability and demulsibility for slow- and medium-speed engine crankcases. Ensures long-term bearing reliability and water separation from condensation.

  • High Thermal Stability: TOST life > 5,000 hours per ASTM D943.
  • Water Separating: Demulsibility < 15 min per ASTM D1401 (54°C).
  • Load Carrying: FZG fail stage ≥ 12 per DIN 51822.

Environmentally Acceptable Lubricants

EALs

Biodegradable solutions for stern tubes, thrusters, controllable-pitch propellers (CPP), and deck machinery operating in sensitive marine zones.

  • EPA VGP Compliant: Meets 2013 Vessel General Permit requirements for oil-to-sea interface.
  • Biodegradability: >60% in 28 days per OECD 301B.
  • Non-Toxic: LC50 > 1,000 mg/L per OECD 203 (fish acute toxicity).
  • EU Ecolabel: Candidate for European Union Ecolabel certification.

Strategic Supply Network

Our strategic global hubs ensure seamless port-to-port reliability for high-performance lubricants. From full barge deliveries in the Panama Canal and primary distribution networks across Florida and the Gulf Coast, to our strategic blending and storage terminal in Batesville, we guarantee efficient bulk and drummed supply exactly where your operations demand it.

GLOBAL LOGISTICS

Port to Port Reliability

Our strategic hubs ensure that high performance lubricants are where you need them, when you need them. From bulk tanker delivery to drummed supply in remote ports.

Panama Hub
Full barge delivery service for Canal transits and Pacific/Atlantic anchorage zones. 24-hour advance notice required for bunkering coordination.
Florida & Gulf Coast
Primary distribution network for Caribbean, Central American, and South American routes. Bulk tanker and drummed supply available in Port Everglades, Tampa, Mobile, and New Orleans.
Batesville, MS — Blending & Storage

REGULATORY AFFAIRS

International Regulatory Compliance

Navigate the complex landscape of maritime environmental regulations with confidence. HSO marine products are rigorously tested to meet and exceed:

IMO 2020 — MARPOL Annex VI sulfur limits (0.50% m/m global cap).

MARPOL Annex VI — NOx and SOx emission control areas (ECA).

EPA VGP — Vessel General Permit for discharges incidental to normal operation.

OEM Specifications — MAN, WinGD, Mitsubishi approved lubricant lists.

Global Maritime Standards

HSO marine lubricants are rigorously formulated and field-tested to ensure absolute compliance with international maritime regulations. We actively navigate complex environmental frameworks, exceeding IMO 2020 sulfur limits, MARPOL Annex VI emission boundaries, and EPA Vessel General Permits, while strictly adhering to approved OEM specifications to protect your fleet in global waters.
